Accelerated Free Fall Course

Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) courses on a fill up basis only. Only 4 students are taken on at any one time and a new course doesn't start until all the students have graduated the AFF program and moved on as qualified skydivers! This ensures that you get maximum tuition and sound advice from our highly skilled instructors. The AFF program consists of a Ground Training School and 8 Skydiving levels, explained in the tabs below:

Level 1 - click for more

You will jump from approximately 12,000 feet above ground level having 2 highly skilled instructors either side of you as you reach speeds of around 120 miles per hour!

During the Ground School, you will be taught the basics of body flight and, assisted by the instructors, you will complete 3 practice pulls of your deployment handle, just to prove to us you know where it is!

At approximately 5,000 feet you will pull your own ripcord and deploy your main parachute. You'll have a radio, so your instructors can assist if you need it.

These are what we call your Learning Objectives, which must be completed. Once your parachute has opened, you then have to steer it and land on the drop zone. Just as an added precaution, you will have a microphone and earpiece so that you are in constant contact with the ground and they can guide your landing.

If you have completed all the required tests during the free fall descent we will progress you on to Level 2.

Level 2

Before starting, you will be fully debriefed on your last skydive and then fully briefed for Level 2.

Again we will jump from 12,500 feet -all levels from 1 to 7 are done from this altitude - 2 instructors will assist you. This time your new Learning Objective will be to move your body in different directions while the instructors hold on to you.

At approximately 5,000 feet you will again deploy your main parachute.

Having successfully completed the Learning Objectives, you will then be fully debriefed and re-briefed for your next level.

Level 3 - click for more

Level 3

This time, your instructors will give you the opportunity to feel what it is like to skydive unaided!

Your instructors will possibly release you at some point during the freefall. This is where you can practice and consolidate what you have learnt so far.

At this stage you should really start getting to grips with skydiving and your body flight. You should be able to recognise if you are moving off, heading or turning and correct it.

If all goes well and you achieve your Learning Objectives satisfactorily, you will then progress to the next level.

Levels 4 & 5 - click for more

Level 4

For this Level, you will only require 1 instructor. You will have proved now that you have grasped the very basics of skydiving.

You must perform an exit with your instructor holding onto you from approximately 12,500 feet. After any corrections made to your body position, the instructor will release.

Your new Objectives are to perform 2 turns of 90 degrees and pull your own parachute at 5,000 feet.

Level 5

This almost the same as Level 4, however this time you must perform 360 degree turns in either direction.

Levels 6, 7 & 8 - click for more

Level 6

For this you will perform your first dive exit. Once stable, you will perform an exercise in instability or a back loop as we call them. The next exercise is a track. This is where you change your body position to move forwards across the sky. You will pull your parachute again at approximately 5,000 feet.

Level 7

All the things you have learnt on the previous levels must now be put into practice. This is where we expect you to dive out of the aeroplane and perform an exercise in instability, two turns and a track. All this has to be completed by a set altitude and you must pull at a set height. Again if all the Objectives are reached, we move on to the next and final level!

Level 8

Level 8 is the final Accelerated Free Fall Level. On this level we require you to exit the aircraft at 5,000 feet and deploy your parachute within 10 seconds. If you pass this level, you graduate and you are now free to skydive on your own!!

Now What? - click for more

Level 8 Complete - now what?

OK, so you have now completed the final level....after reaching Level 8, you must then complete 10 consolidation jumps which can be carried out anywhere in the world.

Consolidation jumps are where you perform solo exits from the aircraft at approximately 12,500 feet.

After completing these, you can move onto a wide variety of skydive disciplines. These include Formation Skydiving; Free Style; Canopy Formation; Sky Surfing and many more!

Don't worry if all this sounds confusing, because you will get all the advice you need from us. We will be more than happy to answer any questions.
